Our first river safari along the Kinabatangan River proved to be an unforgettable experience. We witnessed a clash between two troops of crab-eating macaques and, most memorably, encountered the elusive Bornean orangutan swinging gracefully through the trees. Returning to camp, we enjoyed a delicious dinner before embarking on a thrilling night jungle walk. Equipped with flashlights, we discovered a fascinating world of nocturnal creatures, from tiny insects to soaring bats and vibrant fireflies.

The next morning's river cruise brought us face-to-face with numerous proboscis monkeys, their unique features and acrobatic movements captivating us. Exploring the Jungle Floor
Venturing into the jungle on foot, we encountered a myriad of insects and other fascinating creatures. While mosquitoes proved to be a challenge, taking necessary precautions like long sleeves and insect repellent minimized bites. We even spotted a giant squirrel, thanks to our handy mammal guidebook.
Farewell to the Jungle
As our final night in the jungle drew to a close, we reflected on the incredible experiences we had.
